It’s a holiday tradition to put these up in December or right after Thanksgiving. Everyone with a Christmas tree needs these.
We’re talking the best ornaments and toppers for Christmas tree decorating!
My family’s tradition is to put the tree up and decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving.
It’s a great time of family fun and it’s the first time of the year a full array of Christmas spirit is all around.
We usually put the lights on the tree first and then we put up our many ornaments. Some have personal meaning while others are just traditional and decorative.
Last but not least, we hang the topper on the tree. Ours is a star, but there are other great options too.
On this page you’ll find character, classic, specialty, and sports ornaments while also finding the best overall tree toppers.
Character Ornaments For Christmas Trees
Kids think it’s especially fun to hang characters from movies or cartoons on the tree. I’m sure you’ll be familiar with each one of these.
But kids aren’t the only people who enjoy these ornaments. My favorite one is the Christmas Story leg lamp ornament. If you’ve seen the movie, this scene with the parents is one of the funnier elements of the movie.
There are also some character ornaments for kids too, like Mickey Mouse or the Thomas and Friends ornament.
Do you have a favorite character ornament you use each year? Our kids love their Disney princess and Sesame Street ornaments.
Best Toppers For Christmas Trees
A Christmas tree isn’t complete without a topper. Don’t you agree?
My family uses Kurt Adler star shown below. It is just as beautiful when it’s lit as it is unlit.
Here is a nice list of the best toppers including the very neat snowman one. Amazing, isn’t it?
You might also find some unique Christmas tree toppers as well.
All of these are great options if you are in the market for a new topper or if you know someone who needs one. We all know who they are! Sometimes you cringe when you see someones tree without a good one. Maybe this year is the year!

Classic Ornaments For Christmas Trees
Everyone needs classic ornaments. You can’t just have character ones, or just sports ones…okay…I guess you can but it’s best to have some sort of variety in my opinion.
Here is a list of the six best classic type ornaments you can get today.
My favorites are the glass icicle ornaments and the snowflake. Choosing a color theme will also help you decide on some great ornaments.
Do you have some classic ornaments you decorate your tree with each year? Tell me about it down below in my guestbook.
Specialty Ornaments For Christmas Trees
In choosing the best specialty ornaments I had to choose the funniest one of all!
I hope you all don’t think it’s too crude, but I think this Tootin Santa specialty ornament is hilarious! I know a lot of kids would love it too.
If you want some “special music” during your holiday season to make you and others laugh, then you need to get this.
If this was around while my dad was still living we definitely would have had this!
Sports Ornaments For Christmas Trees
I’m a fan of sports and I personally have Seattle Seahawks ornaments and generic baseball ones too. If you have a favorite team then you’ve gotta have one.
Even if your team isn’t represented here, just click on the image anyway because in most cases you can get any team you want.
Do you have any sports ornaments on your tree each year? Which team is your favorite?
